Cloud & DevOps

Reliable cloud foundations and delivery pipelines

We help teams migrate, harden, and operate on AWS with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, and least-privilege access — so releases are boring and incidents are rare.

Overview

Cloud without discipline becomes expensive chaos: snowflake servers, manual deploys, mystery outages, and access that nobody can audit. DevOps done well is not a tool fad — it is making change safe, visible, and reversible.

Yakx helps Australia and USA product teams establish AWS foundations, CI/CD pipelines, and operational baselines inside accounts you own. We right-size environments, encode infrastructure where it matters, and put quality gates in the path to production.

Whether you are migrating a workload, hardening an existing setup, or preparing for scale, we define rollback, monitoring, and access models before cutover — not after the first 2 a.m. page.

Problems we solve

These are the patterns we see most often before a successful engagement — and what changes when the work is done well.

Manual deploys and snowflake servers

If production only exists in one engineer’s head, every release is a risk event. We automate promotion paths and make environments reproducible.

Cloud spend without ownership

Orphaned resources and oversized instances inflate bills. We map cost to environments and workloads, then apply practical rightsizing.

No visibility into release health

Without logs, metrics, and alerts tied to user journeys, incidents become guesswork. We establish observability baselines for what you ship.

Over-privileged access

Shared root credentials and broad IAM roles create both security and operational risk. We implement least privilege and documented access reviews.

Who this service is for

Best-fit clients share clear constraints and a willingness to decide. If that sounds like you, this engagement model will feel natural.

Teams moving to AWS

Workloads leaving on-prem, shared hosting, or ad-hoc cloud setups that need a controlled migration with rollback.

Product orgs needing safer releases

Teams that ship frequently but lack CI quality gates, staging parity, or clear promotion rules.

Founders preparing for production scale

Early products that work in a demo environment but are not yet ready for real traffic, secrets hygiene, or multi-environment discipline.

What you get

Deliverables are tangible — not vague “transformation.” Exact artefacts are confirmed in the statement of work.

Architecture & migration plan

Target architecture, cutover strategy, risk register, and success criteria for the move or hardening effort.

Infrastructure as code

Reproducible environments — networking, compute, data stores, and secrets patterns as scoped for your workload.

CI/CD pipelines

Build, test, and deploy automation with environment promotion and review gates.

Observability & runbooks

Logging, metrics, alerting for critical paths, plus operational notes for common failure modes.

Engagement shapes

Choose the commercial shape that matches risk and roadmap maturity. We will recommend one during discovery — not force a single packaging.

Migration sprint

Move a defined workload with explicit cutover, validation, and rollback plans.

  • Pre-migration checklist
  • Dry-run where feasible
  • Post-cutover monitoring window

Pipeline hardening

Add or repair CI/CD so releases are reviewed, tested, and promoted deliberately.

  • Pipeline design for your stack
  • Environment secrets strategy
  • Rollback / hotfix path

Ops retainer

Ongoing reliability work — patching, monitoring tuning, and incident support within agreed SLAs.

  • Defined response expectations
  • Monthly reliability review
  • Change log for infrastructure

How we work on this service

  • We inventory what exists before proposing tools — reality before diagrams.
  • Client-owned AWS accounts are the default; we operate with least privilege.
  • Changes are reviewable and reversible whenever practical.
  • We document how to deploy, roll back, and who to call when something fails.
  • Cost and security are design inputs, not post-launch surprises.

Full delivery detail lives on our process page.

Quality & control baselines

  • Infrastructure changes reviewed before apply (as scoped)
  • Separated environments for staging and production
  • Secrets management outside the git history
  • Backup and restore validation for critical data stores
  • Alerting on symptoms that matter to users, not only host metrics

Tech signals & rationale

AWS is our primary cloud for AU/US clients who need a mature service catalog and regional options. Containers and CI/CD keep delivery consistent across environments. We choose managed services when operational burden outweighs control benefits — and explain that trade-off.

Outcomes we aim for

Releases that are routine instead of heroic
Clear ownership of cloud accounts, costs, and access
Faster recovery when something breaks
A foundation that supports product growth without constant firefighting

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions AU/US buyers ask during vendor due diligence.

Whose AWS account do you use?

Yours. We work inside client-owned accounts with least-privilege IAM and documented access. We do not build your production estate in Yakx-owned accounts.

Do you provide 24/7 on-call?

On-call and SLAs are scoped per engagement. We always define response expectations in writing before go-live so there is no ambiguity during an incident.

Will you rewrite everything as infrastructure-as-code on day one?

Not always. We prioritize the highest-risk and highest-change surfaces first. Full IaC coverage is a journey; we sequence it against business risk and team capacity.

Can you work with an existing DevOps vendor?

Yes. We can harden pipelines, review architecture, or own a defined slice while coordinating with your broader team — with clear interface ownership.
